gotten lucky

I am a terrible traveller. I am reminded of this fact almost every day, and will come back to this frequently. In kenya this is not such a problem; everyone is so friendly that you can depend on their helpfulness to help you through any problems that you encounter. In South Africa however, people (tourists/travellers) are expected to be self-reliant, so this got us (me) in a few problems.
